Cast Steel Globe Valves

Hanno Valve produces Cast Steel Globe Valves, which are valves whose closing parts move along the center line of the valve seat. The opening and closing parts are plug-shaped valves, and the sealing surface is flat or push-in. The valve moves linearly along the center line of the valve seat, and the movement of the valve stem can be hidden, or it can also be a lifting and rotating valve stem, that is, hidden valve stem and rising stem.

Globe valve belongs to the blocking type valve, which mainly serves to cut off the pipeline.

Globe valve is one of the most commonly used valves and is also the most suitable form for throttling. Because it has good regulating performance, and compared with other structural types of valves, the wear distribution around the wide seat of the globe valve due to erosion is more uniform. The globe valve is a forced sealing valve, so pressure must be applied to the valve release when closing to prevent leakage between the two sealing surfaces. Due to the fact that the sealing force and medium pressure of the globe valve are on the same axis and in opposite directions, the sealing force not only cannot be amplified, but also needs to overcome the force of the medium. Therefore, the sealing force required for the globe valve is much greater than that of the gate valve. Special attention should be paid in the selection of load stop width. Globe valves with flat sealing rings cannot be used for contaminated media or media containing solid particles. In these media, using a conical sealing surface for sealing is more appropriate

Generally, it is recommended to use cut-off width in throttling, regulating, and high-pressure pipeline systems; Globe valves can be used in situations where dual position adjustment is required, structural requirements are light, there are no strict requirements for structural length, low pressure cutoff (small pressure difference), and high turbidity; In mud and media containing solid particles, where wear resistance, reduced diameter, rapid action (1/4 turn for opening and closing), and low operating force are required, load stop width should not be used; When requiring good sealing performance, high pressure stop (large pressure difference), low noise, air pockets and vaporization phenomena, small leakage to the atmosphere, abrasive media, and low-temperature cryogenic conditions, a specially designed globe valve can be used.

However, globe valves also have their drawbacks, mainly caused by the internal shape of the valve body. In the chamber of the load check valve, the medium changes from flowing horizontally in a straight line to flowing vertically upwards or downwards, and then to flowing horizontally, resulting in pressure loss, especially in hydraulic devices. This type of pressure loss should be given sufficient attention
